Join the Film[making] Society

We are about to start the new term and we want you to enjoy with our Film activities!!

Are you a student at London Metropolitan University? Interested in filmmaking? or you just want to come over from time to time to watch films, or even get yourself involved in organizing a screening, film quizzes, or going out to festivals around town with other film buffs?

Do you want to get involved in organizing the 2nd edition of the FilmMet Short Film Festival? Do you want to make reviews in our Film[making] Society website as a blogger? Do you have 3 pounds? (!??!WTF¿??!) er… yes, we know you could have a pint (or 2) with that, or buy the first 2 Britney Spears albums for that prize, but why not joining us?? We think is worth it…

Here are some reasons:

• In our first term of life (6 months), we invited a prestigious cuban filmmaker (Enrique Colina) to show us his documentaries and let him spell us with his speech while he talked about the political situation of his country
• We organized a blue screen workshop which helped people experimenting this technique (yes, if you didn’t know, we have a blue screen “studio”, though this is going to become green soon), even some of our members dived into the deep ocean! (just search in our website the short film “The Unexpected“)
• We screened Korean films… but hold on! we also screened George Lucas first works (so you see this is not just a bizarre filmy thingy)
• We screened your shorts (yes, you, or is it you??)
• We created a Film Festival which was a great success!! And we gave diplomas to the winners and a Star Wars wonderful trophy! (prizes were for documentary, fiction, music video and art/experimental… – so if you are in one film course you can start choosing what you want to experiment with)
